Some people may wonder why a person would consider a dental veneer procedure, but did you know that 80% of people are not satisfied with their smile? Every year people suffer a mouth trauma that left one or more teeth looking discolored, leaving them ashamed of their smile. Most people try to whiten the tooth to get it back to normal, but if the tooth is dead or discolored in a specific way, then you won’t be able to whiten it. A lack of confidence in your smile can leave you feeling down, and not wanting to smile.

At our Smiles By Hanna office in Gilbert, we are always sad to hear our patients do not feel confident or happy with their smile, and explain that all they want is their smile back.  We hear traumatic stories about life events that caused the discoloration or how they don’t like the shape of their teeth.

What are some dental veneer options?

Thankfully there is something you can do to help. At Smiles By Hanna, we offer porcelain veneers to patients who want to feel proud of their smile. We had a patient, Jeffrey, who had come into our office upset about a chipped tooth that he wanted fixed. He had heard about porcelain veneers and was interested in learning more about how it could help fix his smile and his front tooth.

Dental Veneers

First, let’s discuss what dental veneers are. They are almost like a make-over for your teeth. Stains can come from coffee or chipped like in Jeffrey’s case, from a childhood accident.  Porcelain veneers are a quick and painless option if you want to transform your smile in as little as two visits.  Our top-rated dental veneer expert Dr. Hanna Mansoor explains that veneers are made up of thin layers of medical-grade porcelain that are bonded to your teeth.  They look and feel just like your regular teeth, but are made with cutting-edge materials that will resist future staining. Porcelain veneers can help hide any and all stains, even ones that professional grade whitening agents cannot do. They also can conceal or help correct small gaps, chips, or twists in your tooth. Porcelain veneers can even extend the look of your teeth if they are too short.

Benefits of Porcelain Veneers

Dr. Hanna Mansoor explains Porcelain veneers offers many benefits to her patients who want to have a beautiful and confident smile. The first benefit being appearance, when you get your porcelain veneers done by a professional like Dr. Hanna Mansoor, people will not be able to tell the difference, except that you now have a radiant smile. You do not have to wait long, at Smiles By Hanna you can transform your smile in just two visits to her Gilbert office. There is also versatility in having veneers, you can have just one tooth covered, or you can have your whole smile.

The entire process is pain-free because Dr. Hanna Mansoor focuses on only pain-free care for her patients and veneers are a great way to fix flaws without pain. Did we mention that veneers are stain-resistant? Since veneers are made up of cutting-edge materials, they can resist staining from coffee, tea, and other products that may stain. Lastly, the best benefit is that with proper care, they are long-lasting, meaning they can last for ten years or more.

Dental Veneer Experts

Our team at Smiles By Hanna wants to ensure you know what to expect during the procedure. Dr. Hanna Mansoor took the time to explain to Jeffrey each step in the procedure process so that he knew what to expect during his visits. Jeffrey was told that in just two visits he will have a brand-new smile and will be able to enjoy it within a few short weeks.  During his first visit with Dr. Hanna, she asks Jeffrey how he would like to change his smile and his goal for this treatment. She also explained that she needs to ensure that he is an appropriate candidate for veneers by taking a closer look at his teeth and taking a model of his teeth.

Her cutting-edge machine helped her to create a veneer that’s the same thickness and color as his other teeth. Dr. Hanna removed a small piece of enamel to create a solid surface to bond the veneer.

Jeffrey’s Experience at Smiles By Hanna

After the first visit, Jeffrey goes home with a temporary veneer and waited while our Smiles By Hanna team created the perfect permanent porcelain veneer for Jeffrey’s smile. Before removing any enamel, Dr. Hanna wanted to ensure that Jeffrey is not in pain by asking if he would like a local anesthesia during the procedure. Although there is generally no pain during this procedure, Dr. Hanna’s goal is to ensure her patients are always comfortable.

In Jeffrey’s next visit he’ll come back to our Gilbert office, and Dr. Hanna Mansoor will permanently place the porcelain veneer, she will place a desensitizer to help with any cold/ hot sensitivity. Dr. Hanna will make sure they are polished and free of any cement. Dr. Hanna will also check to make sure the bite is perfect and comfortable. She explains to Jeffrey that he may have a slight sensitivity to hot and cold foods and his gums may be a bit sensitive at first. These effects typically only last a few days and are still pain-free. Dental veneers are permanent and you are to care for them just like you would your normal teeth.  They require minimal maintenance and they’ll typically last a lifetime.

Once the veneer is secure, our patients can eat regularly, and smile confidentially with their brand new veneers! Following his experience at Smiles By Hanna, Jeffrey said that his veneers felt like his actual tooth.
